Chapter News

The EMEAC ExCo is pleased to announce that Professor Antonio Martins da Silva has been elected Member-at-Large with responsibility for Africa following our recent round of voting. This is a four-year term. We would like to thank all candidates for agreeing to stand and national societies for their voting. We were substantially above the quorum for votes of 50% member societies.

We will now move onto the elections for the other Member-at-Large, this time with responsibility for website and web presence, over the coming weeks.

The European Chapter was delighted that its past chair, Professor Walter Paulus has been elected President of the IFCN commencing at the ICCN in Washington. We thank him for all his work over the last four years.

Professor Jonathan Cole has been elected to the position of Chair, EC-IFCN and last year, at the Budapest ECCN Dr Hatice Kantisi was elected secretary and treasurer.

As people may know, the IFCN Executive Committee is making some changes. The previous Liaison officer for each chapter has been discontinued and in its place one member of each chapter Executive committee will also sit on the IFCN executive. Following his election as chair, EC-IFCN, Jonathan Cole has been proposed. This will be considered at the ICCN in Washington.

In Budapest, the General Assembly of the European Chapter agreed that in the absence of a liaison officer, they would elect an additional Member- at-Large to the Executive Committee and that this person would have responsibility for training and education matters. These elections are about to take place.

Survey

A survey on the situation of Clinical Neurophysiology was initiated by the ExCo in 2012. Jonathan Cole collected and summarized data from each countries’ delegate. The IFCN-EU Survey of Training and Practice is now available!  Please click here to review the results.
